There could be many reasons for not losing weight. Some of them may be irregular eating patterns which cause you to eat more than your body can burn. Hypothyroidism, Cushing’s syndrome, and depression could cause you to put on some weight. Hypothyroidism is a condition in which the thyroid gland secretes too little of the thyroid hormone. This slows down the metabolism and adds weight to your body. Secretion of excess amount of cortisol by the adrenal glands might build-up fat in your abdomen, upper back and face. If you are depressed you might overeat and this might add up to your weight.
If you have healthy eating habits you can control your weight. Make healthy food choices when you eat at home or a restaurant. Make sure that you have a variety of healthy foods at home. Eat slowly as this might enable you to find out if you are full. Do not take snacks whenever you feel like. You have to plan your snacks. Taking snacks frequently could be one of the reasons for not losing weight. Learn to read the food labels and find out the food that does not add weight to your body. You might be taking too much fat content and hence you may not be able to lose weight. Drink more water rather than having other sweetened drinks and soda.
