The main benefit of the cabbage soup diet is that you can lose 8-16 pounds but you must be careful because: 1) soup contains a low
amount of calories what can cause shortage of energy; 2) this kind of food is inferior in amount of carbohydrates, protein, vitamins and mineral substances. It is recommended that maximum duration of the diet is 7 days.
Recipe of the cabbage soup:
Necessary ingredients:
medium cabbage;
6 medium size onions;
few tomatoes (can be canned);
few sweet peppers;
celery;
stock (cube).
Vegetables to be cut and covered with water. Then they must be boiled for 10 minutes on a high temperature; after that temperature to be reduced and vegetables stewed until they become soft. For better taste salt, black pepper, curry or tomato sauce can be added. Soup is ready!
Cabbage soup diet
Cabbage soup is the base of the diet. It must be eaten every day – as often and as much as you want. Certain products must be eaten every day in addition to the soup – improvisation is forbidden.
1st day
Soup + fruits. Any fruits except bananas. Drinks: tea with no sugar, cranberry juice, water.
2nd day
Soup + vegetables. Any vegetables – fresh, stewed, grilled, canned. Not recommended: beans, peas and corn. Only on this day chips are allowed. Drinks: water.
3rd day
Soup + fruits and vegetables. Drink water.
4th day
Soup + fruits and vegetables. On this day low fat milk is allowed and you may eat up to 3 bananas. Drink water.
5th day
Soup + boiled beef, tomatoes. Drink water.
6th day
Soup + boiled beef and vegetables as much as you like. It’s recommended to eat the soup at least once a day. Drink water.
7th day
Soup + boiled brown rice, fruit juices, vegetables. Rice can be added to the soup or mixed with vegetables. Drink water.
Additional recommendations
- eat soup every time you feel hungry;
- stick to the plan regarding to the choice of the other products;
- use a lot of liquid, 4 glasses at least;
- use lean meat;
- do not use plant oil (only during making potatoes);
- absolutely avoid bread, alcohol, carbonated drinks;
- weigh yourself every morning to see how much of your weight you dropped what will give you additional motivation;
- after the diet, eat balanced and healthy food to maintain achieved.
